Name your Fiscal Periods

Since many companies start their fiscal year in a month other than January, MS Dynamics GP has set the default period names to Period 1, Period 2, etc. Rather than leave it as is, learn how to change the names today!

Changing the fiscal period name is a very simple process. First go to the Setup window and click on the Period Name. All you have to do now is type the desired name in and you are done. Using the calendar months is usually the most common name change but you can also use a combination of the Month and Year if that is better for your company.

Although a simple task, changing the fiscal period name can make many of the reports and inquiries a lot easier to read.

**As of January 11th 2011 Microsoft Small Business Financials (SBF) will be officially discontinued, along with product support and maintenance.
